Description: Bhutan Thunder Dragon Tour is a short day cultural tour of western Bhutan. Yelha Bhutan Tours has organized this tour to give our guests the maximum sightseeing of the two western parts of Bhutan in the available short duration. Thimphu valley “Capital” and Paro valley is one of the most highly visited and popular valleys in the kingdom.

This tour is for our guests who doesn’t have much time for their vacation and would like to see and visit the must visit sites in the two popular valleys of the Kingdom. We will be visiting the Ta Dzong (National Museum),Paro Dzong, the world largest bronze Buddha statue,  memorial stupa, Tashichhodzong and hike the most sacred site for Buddhism in the world the Taktsang Goempa (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) at Paro.

Day 01: Arrive Paro (2280 Meters)                                                                                                  

Fly into Kingdom of Bhutan via Druk air Or Bhutan airlines. The great snowcapped peaks of the inner Himalayas rise up to the heavens can be seen during clear weather. Bhutan is a most peaceful and beautiful destination for travelers. After landing at Paro sightseeing of

  • Paro Dzong,.The Dzong was built in the 16th century on the foundation of a monastery built by Guru Rinpoche (who is regarded as the “second Buddha.”) .
  • National Museum built in the 17th century as a watchtower for the Paro Dzong. This dzong was converted into the National museum in 1967 and is filled with antique thankha paintings, textiles, weapons and armor.

Overnight at Paro (Options: Tashi Namgyel Resort, Gangtey Palace, Tigers Nest resort, Tenziling Resort etc)

Day 02: Paro – Thimphu (2320 Meters)

  • Distance: 54 km
  • Estimated travel time: 1 hour

Travel to Thimphu and check into your hotel. Then visit the following as per your interest and time availability.

  • The School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts.
  • Centenary Farmers.
  • The Memorial Chorten.
  • Tashichhoe Dzong.
  • Takin Preserve.
  • Changangkhag Temple.
  • Largest bronze Buddha statue.
  • Craft Bazaar.

Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu (Options: Dorji Elements, Galingkha, and Hotel Phuntsho Pelri)

Day 03: Thimphu-Paro and Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

After breakfast, travel to Paro which will take about 1 hour.

Taktsang Goempa (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) hike at Paro. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century.  It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon.

Visit Kichu Lhakhang on the way. Kichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo.

In the evening relax and overnight at a hotel in Paro. (Options: Tashi Namgyel Resort, Gangtey Palace, Tigers Nest resort, Tenziling Resort etc)

Day 04: Departure from Paro

After breakfast, we will bid you farewell at the Paro International Airport for your flight to your onward destinations.

  • 100% discount to one member in a group exceeding 26 persons.
