Description: We have designed this 5 days Bhutan tour package for the convenient of our guests who would like to experience and see the best of the kingdom in a relatively short duration. In this 5 days and 4 Nights tour you will be travelling to four beautiful valleys of the Kingdom.
We have added few adventure hikes in this tour itinerary like the Devine mad man temple hike through the lush paddy fields of Punakha valley and the Tigers nest hike at paro where one can ride horses till the summit.
Tigers nest hike is one of the most beautiful and challenging hike. Its 2 hours and 30 minutes uphill hike to the Main temple and the scenery when one reached the summit is breathtaking. It’s the must visit sacred site for everyone.
Day 01: Arrive Paro – Drive to Thimphu
On arrival at Paro airport and after completing your Bhutan visa formalities, you will be met by a representative from Yelha Bhutan Tours a local Bhutan tour operator. Then travel to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan.
Visit the following:
Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu (Options: Dorji Elements, Galingkha, Hotel Phuntsho Pelri )
Day 02: Thimphu – Punakha & Wangduephodrang
After breakfast, travel to Punakha through Dochula Pass (3,088m/10,130ft). Visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang.The Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (temple) was built to honor His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyalpo, Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
Visit the Divine Madman’s Monastery-Chimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where one can receive a special fertility blessing.
Visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Pho Chu (male river) and the Mo chu (female river). In the evening visit local markets in Punakha.
Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu (Options: Meri phunsum resort, Vara, Zangtopelri, Damchen resort)
Day 03: Punakha / Wangduephodrang -Paro
After breakfast travel to Paro via Dochula pass.
National Museum,housed in the Ta Dzong (watchtower). Here an intriguing collection of artifacts provide a wonderful introduction to the rich culture and heritage of the Kingdom.
Paro Dzong, a fine example of Bhutanese historic architecture. It is also known as theRinpung Dzong which means a “fortress that sits on a heap of jewels”.
Overnight at Paro (Options: Tashi Namgyel Resort, Gangtey Palace, Tigers Nest resort, Tenziling Resort etc)
Day 04: A Day Hike to Paro Taktsang Goempa (Tiger’s Nest Monastery)
After breakfast, hike up to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. The climb up to the viewpoint will take around 1 ½ hours. Stop for refreshment at the View Point Cafeteria. Then walk further up to the monastery which will take about 1 hour.
On the way visit Kichu temple, one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo. The story goes that a giant demon lay across the whole area of Tibet and the Himalayas and was preventing the spread of Buddhism. In the evening relax and overnight at hotel in Paro. Farewell dinner.
Day 05: Departure from Paro
In the morning, your Bhutan tour guide from Yelha Bhutan Tours and Travels will see you off at the Paro airport for your onward flight.
